Welcome to our book publishing journey with poems about the beach, Dreams of the Turtle King,  with 24 illustrations on this blog and read about the how and why of this project. I live in Arlington, TX and Denise lives in Houston and she had seen some of my sketches posted in one of my journals online and contacted me to illustrate her book of poetry so here we are collaborating and we haven't met in person...yet. We are just getting this project launched and Laurie Pace has helped with setting up the blog design. We will be posting and invite you to follow along. The book will be available on Amazon in December 2013. 

Denise will post more about the poems and her part in the project. She will be in charge of the scanning and it will be interesting to read her progress. I have mailed the first 5 images to have them professionally scanned.

This was my first watercolor sketch, Early Risers, on Bockingford Rough 140 lb. watercolor paper, pen and ink sketch, Namiki Falcon pen and Noodlers Lexington Gray ink. I took this photo while in a plein air oil workshop in Sandbridge, VA in September.
